DeathToll Arena Qualifiers #3 Runner-up - EveryShotCounts kxoduskn Interview!

17 Aug 2012

Introduce yourself, please.
My friends know me as kenn, and im 24 this year. Hobbies include both sports and e-sports! :)

How did you get started with CS:O? How long have you been playing CS:O?
I was originally a CS 1.6 player, and when the hype there sort of died down, my team and i moved on to CSO where there were more games to be played and more tournaments to drive us towards a common goal.

Why do you like CS:O?
I enjoy the team bonding experience out of game, and the teamwork in-game, along with the intensity of having to constantly react and think fast. Ultimately, every games turns out differently, with some providing me with a great sense of accomplishment upon tough clutches!

Which is your favourite pro-gaming team or player in the Counter-Strike scene?
I would have to say its a tough choice between fnatic and na'vi as both teams (besides having nice team names) are well disciplined and show great talent and consistency.

My favourite player would have to be "Spawn", who has despite somehow disappeared from the CS scene, was one of my role models in my journey through my early gaming days. He was a great team player with remarkable firepower, and constantly made nice clutches which would cause spectators to hold their breath and just smile to themselves upon the successful win.

What do your friends and family say about your passion towards CS:O?
Honestly, as can be expected, my parents haven't been really supportive of my gaming hobbies (duh). Nonetheless, through ensuring that i can balance well my studies and gaming schedules, I can put them at a peace of mind that gaming would not affect my studies and work. On the other hand, my friends have been really supportive, with some texting me for results or even coming down to support my team.

How do you normally prepare for a competition?
Perhaps warming up with bots before playing some TDM matches to fine tweak your firepower and hearing abilities. Watching youtube for frag videos also helps to inspire you!

Share with us your most victorious moment in CS:O history.
During the very first competition held by CSO. My team and I decided to go down for a try. Despite lacking in confidence and having very last minute training and lineup, we somehow managed to perform extraordinarily well on that day and achieved 2nd for the competition, beating some teams that we have never imagined we could win at that point in time.

Between the headset, mouse and mousepad, which one would you pick to bring to a competition if you are only allowed to bring ONE? Why?
CS is all about having the FEELING. So, definitely, i'll choose the mouse.

Any last shoutout to the CS:O community?
Train hard, go pro! Oh, and study/work hard too...
